International Trade Attorney (Washington, DC)
Type of Position: Junior Associate
Position Description: Associate position assisting attorney in small law firm (currently six attorneys and four non-lawyers) with active international trade practice, involving primarily Korean, Mexican, Taiwanese, and Vietnamese clients. The nature of the work will vary depending on the current caseload of the firm.
Work is expected to involve (1) trade remedy proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce (“DOC”) and U.S. International Trade Commission (“ITC”), and (2) related appeals before the U.S. Court of International Trade (“CIT”), Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (“CAFC”), and potentially bi-national USCMA panels and WTO dispute-settlement panels.
Required Skills: Strong writing skills; strong research skills; familiarity with basic word processing and spreadsheet programs; ability to work effectively under deadlines; and understanding of (or ability to learn) basic accounting principles. Ability to assist with administrative and legal tasks. Relevant foreign language abilities and/or previous experience in trade remedy proceedings not required, but will be a plus.
